Work-Study Program

This program is meant to build community at Westlake while also providing access to training. This is a work exchange program. Upon your employment you will receive unlimited classes during your term. We ask for those applying to give a minimum three-month commitment to the program.Shifts open up on a rotating basis, and we will reach out if there is anything that fits your availability.

Pricing & Registration

To Register:

Students can book classes online, and complete registration at the front desk once they arrive at the studio. All students must check in at the desk for classes. If you need to pay for class, please do so online or pay at the front desk. you must wait in line. We will be accepting Visa & Mastercard Credit/Debit, & payments through our online booking site Punch Pass.

If you haven’t danced at Westlake before you will need to fill out a registration form upon signing up for classes. Registration can now be done online!

Jazzfunk

Hip Hop Based Choreography with elements of Jazz Technique included

Heels

Heels Style Choreography

Showgirl Heels

A class dedicated to Parisian Cabaret Showgirl Style. Heels are optional

Bellydance

Classical and Modern Egyptian Bellydance

Afro

This Afro class will focus on fundamentals in urban styles such as Afrobeats, Afrohouse, Ndombolo, Coupe Decale and Amapiano. Students can expect to explore the key elements of Afro dance through drills, short sequences and exercises. Open to beginning movers to advanced dancers.

Yoga

Limber up those dancing muscles with a yoga session.

Stretch & Strength

Stretch and Strength is an intense session of basic stretches and strengthening that targets many areas of the body. Stretching involves an integrated partner-stretching program created by Keri LaGrand. Strengthening involves isometrics to target specific muscles and cardio exercises. This class is a great workout and a fun way to stay in great shape! The Stretch and Strength class is for anyone, whether you are dancer wanting a hard workout or just someone who wants a challenge.

Contemporary

Lyrical/Contemporary is a style of jazz that concentrates on technical fluidity and personal display of emotions and feelings. Dancers are given the opportunity to explore the lyrics and incorporate them into movement thus expressing their own individuality. Class begins with a warm-up which focuses on technique, coordination, and flexibility. Warm-up is followed by either progressions across the floor or straight to a combination which chains movement in a longer sequence.

Lyrical

Progressions

Progressions focus on the basics of jazz including turns, turns sequences, leaps, jumps. Class starts with a warm-up, then starts working on a progression of dance technique traveling across the floor.

Tap

Stretch and Strength is an intense session of basic stretches and strengthening that targets many areas of the body. Stretching involves an integrated partner-stretching program created by Keri LaGrand. Strengthening involves isometrics to target specific muscles and cardio exercises. Jazz

Jazz classes explore traditional, Broadway, funky or contemporary styles in a fun, energetic atmosphere. Class begins with a warm-up which focuses on technique, coordination, and flexibility. Warm-up is followed by either progressions across the floor or straight to a combination which chains movement in a longer sequence. Jazz usus full body movements that incorporate turns and leaps.

Hip Hop

Hip-hop refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. Styles include breaking, locking, popping, and more. Classes generally start with a warm-up then work on a combination which chains movement in a longer sequence. Hip-hop uses smaller isolated movements and possibly a “freestyle” (improvisational) component.

Ballet

Ballet is a technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology and follows specific rules about the positions of the arms, feet, and body. A typical ballet class will start with barre exercises like pliés, tendus, and rond de jambes and ends with center and across the floor work to incorporate barre exercises into longer sequences.
