Val Juguilon

Val has been dancing for 20 years, teaching for over 10 years, and continues training in hip hop, jazz funk and heels throughout Seattle. She joined the Westlake community in 2019 when she moved from San Diego. At age 16, Val became her local studio’s first scholarship student and was given the chance to study ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip-hop. This generous training opportunity was foundational to her dance career that as a teacher, Val became passionate about making dance accessible, especially its technical aspects. She went on to become the Theatre Dance Director of her high school alma mater, and choreographed 9 musicals like Mary Poppins, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Shrek, the Little Mermaid and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. She danced on collegiate teams like UCSD Ascension and 220 Second to None, competed at international shows like Vibe and Body Rock, and trained at Studio 429 and Culture Shock. After moving to Seattle, Val continued her teaching career at Dance Elite for 5 years. She completed training programs with Zay’s Baes, ZTheory, Kristen Grace, RTHMZ, and most recently XZQT by Daniel Cruz, and has performed under these choreographers in several Seattle dance community shows. Val’s versatile background combined with her love of grooves and commercial performance is evident in her classes packed with groove-based warmups, technique drills, and high-energy choreography that will bring out your best stage life!
